illustration based on the cut out characters idea

Thursday 27 November 2008

Took me a while, but i got there in the end?!?

Here's a few illustration sites that we could possibly look into:

Two of the illustrators have a nice messy look to it, something that we can venture into?

oh and also here's a nice lil website that has option/choice aspect of interaction!

The site also has a "How to animate" section on it too, so hopefully that will be helpful, if we need tips on that kinda thing.

Interactive Design ideas

After a short discussion with my group after reading the required brief, I started to mind-map or plan my ideas from our discussion on paper.

10 things you should know about...
-Most of my ideas were related to the science topic.-
human hand: every time the scroller is dragged onto the image the screen slowly zooms closer to the skin, exposing common bacterias found on the human hands.

-good bacteria/ bad bacteria.

-disected corpse on a surgical table with exposed organs in a dark room; viewd from a birds eye, placed across the screen with facts about the human organs.

-facts about living plant spieces.

Worse-case scenario
-a pop-up would appear with choices of a reaction amongst every senario.

-the theme of the interactive design would probably take place in a scary forest: lost in the wilderness or plane crash in the forest.

-there could be a small interactive map of where the viewer stands, in the forest as they come across a scenario in the corner of the webpage .

-as the user scrolls down the forest a threatning animal appears.

-dead trees, no leaves. full moon, wolf hawls..? foggy.

-threatning animals include:

giant rabbit (silly)
birds (eagle, falcon)
snake
scorpion
spider
panda
fox
owl
elephant
gorila
mountain lion
dog
racoon
deer
bear
baboon
squerl (the smaller, less harmful animal could be a part of the background making sounds)
rabbit
insects (bees, magots, beatles)
hedgehog

Next step:
-research tips and advice on how to survive animal attaks.
-start creating visual development and experiment on most sutable style of illustration.
-create a rough idea of the story board

playing around with photography - kept it lighthearated (notice the angry eyebrows on angry bear!)
